Keyhole Surgery
Keyhole Surgery
If you are experiencing pain during your periods or intercourse or having difficulty falling pregnant, you could have endometriosis – an easily treatable condition that can affect fertility.
Laparoscopic Surgery
Laparoscopic or keyhole surgery, with radical excision of all the areas of endometriosis, is one of the main areas of surgery undertaken by Dr Raymond. This procedure has been shown to be the most effective way to relieve pain, but also to assist in achieving a pregnancy.
Generally treatment for endometriosis will involve the use of hormones or surgery to remove the extra tissue. Hormonal treatment can be very effective for relief of pain, but surgery is generally a better option for treatment for endometriosis.
Keyhole surgery can be used for the removal of fibroids through small incisions made in the abdomen. This can be a fertility sparing surgery, leaving the uterus intact for further pregnancies.
With professional, caring staff and impressive medical expertise, at Dr Steve Raymond’s you’ll receive the most up-to-date information and the best treatment for your situation.
Keyhole (laparoscopic) procedures may include those for:
- Abnormal or heavy bleeding
- Ovarian cysts
- Fibroids
- Endometriosis
- Infertility
- Prolapse
- Urinary incontinence including sling or tape procedures
- Microsurgery for tubal reanastomosis.
