Dr Steve Raymond has been in specialist practice for 30 years and is one of Newcastle’s most highly regarded gynaecologists and Infertility specialists.

Dr Raymond has nurtured wide interests in the fields of Gynaecology, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, Infertility and Diagnostic Ultrasound.

Dr Raymond has been at the forefront of advanced keyhole surgery for nearly 20 years, including laparoscopic surgery for challenging gynaecological conditions such as endometriosis. He is a vigorous proponent of Keyhole surgery as it allows patients to recover very quickly with minimal downtime. He virtually undertakes all his surgery as keyhole or vaginal operations for the treatment of gynaecological conditions such as fibroids, Adenomyosis and prolapse.

He was the Founding Medical Director of Hunter IVF. His approach to treating infertility issues is to start by taking a thorough and comprehensive medical history for both the female and male partner. This ensures a logical and comprehensive framework for the best treatment option for your patients.

After referral to Dr Raymond, you can rest assured that your patients will be managed personally, including thorough investigations and diagnosis, for the treatment of surgical conditions such as endometriosis, tubal problems and fibroids, and ovulation induction, IUI or IVF treatment.

Dr Raymond has maintained a keen interest in Diagnostic Ultrasound for Obstetrics and Gynaecology as well as Prenatal Diagnosis. He was the first to introduce CVs and Fetal blood sampling to the region. He continues to undertake invasive testing when required and is very experienced at dealing with complex prenatal Diagnoses.
